A-1 Quality Belting is your source for advice, repairs, installations and reliable conveyor parts across Western Canada. Our pulley lagging can be done in our shop, on-site, or at the manufacturer. Pulley lagging increases the traction between the conveyor belt and the drive pulley. As a result, it reduces load and wear on the conveyor drive components, conveyor belt, conveyor idlers, and bearings. Some of the key benefits include:
In most cases, lagging is attached to the pulley by vulcanizing, or weld on strip lagging can be used. The lagging strips are welded to the face of the pulley. Another lagging system is made out of ceramic tiles molded into durable rubber backing. Ceramic lagging is designed to increase drive friction coefficients over standard rubber lagging systems. In certain severe slippage applications, this results in upwards of 80% better traction than a plain rubber equivalent.
